PIOLINK(CEO, Cho Young-chul) announced that Chosun University has strengthened internal network security and secured service stability and operational convenience by replacing existing switches and establishing new networks with 'TiFRONT Cloud Security Switch'.
The establishment of the cloud security switch made it easier for Chosun University to centrally manage a number of switches distributed on campus, and to increase internal visibility such as network users, access terminals, IPs, and traffic usage analysis. In particular, it has been able to strengthen security by blocking various harmful traffic from being spread on the network, and by quickly identifying and responding to network failures caused by reckless cable connections or router usage.
In an environment where many students use their digital devices to access the network, such as universities, security threats and network failures through end-points frequently occur. Unknowingly, malware-infected devices can access school networks to access important and private information such as school finances, personal and academic database. In addition, if visibility is not properly secured in wired and wireless complex networks, there are concerns over security problems as well as disorder itself.

PIOLINK's "TiFRONT Cloud Security Switch" is installed to the closest end-points such as PCs and routers and preemptively block the spread of harmful traffic to the network. Major detection attacks include ransomware using SMB protocol vulnerabilities such as WannaCry, botnets causing DDoS attacks, ARP spoofing that intercepts the screen, and excessive traffic. It is equipped with a security engine with its own security algorithm, which automatically blocks harmful traffic without administrator intervention, and which is its distinct advantage since business continuity can be maintained because it only blocks problematic traffic.
In particular, 'TiController', a cloud-based integrated management system, is a key solution to easy network management that shows a variety of information collected from switches and helps speeding up security and fault response. NMS, QoS, ESM, and NAC functions are available in one browser, including multiple switch batch settings, user terminal management, traffic analysis and management, security control, and remote failure response.

Chosun University's Security Control Center centrally manages the whole campus network through a TiController. It maintains a pleasant network environment by identifying connected terminals, types, IPs, and traffic usage at a glance and blocking the spread of harmful traffic that causes excessive traffic or security accidents.
Shin Sang-chul, an information security officer at Chosun University, said, "We have newly realized the role of switch as a network access gateway. "Only by replacing switches, we can now protect our internal network from various security threats and quickly identify and respond to problems." he said. "It is perfect for school environment where various user devices access a wide range of campuses."
In addition to universities, elementary, middle, and high schools, PIOLINK TiFRONT Cloud Security Switches are used by public companies, local governments, headquarters, and companies consisting of many branches and factories. In addition to cloud security switches, the TiFRONT product family includes security switches dedicated to CCTV, security access points (AP), and backbone switches, and they manage security, visibility, and fault response of internal networks through Ticontrollers in an integrated manner.
