PIOLINK announced that they obtained the title of the “Green Technology Product” with their web application firewall, WEBFRONT-K, after getting the title of the “Certification of Green Technology” with the technology of improving the performance of processing network packets based on the multi-core system. 

The Green Certification is a set of standards for certifying and supporting promising green technology or business according to South Korean government’s “Low Carbon Green Growth” Policy. This certificate sets are awarded after passing strict screening procedures by government agencies such as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and specialized rating agencies. Among these sets, the Certification of Green Technology is for technologies which reduces greenhouse gas emissions and environmental pollution by saving and efficiently using energy and resources. 

PIOLINK’s operating systems maximize the usage of CPUs by improving performance bottleneck parts on multi-core environments while processing traffic and checking security. PIOLINK’s operating systems gained the Certification of Green Technology last November with their outstanding performance on processing packets compare to cases of not applying this technology under structures with the same power supply system. The “Green Technology Product” certificate is for commercially available products with green technology. To earn this certificate, a company must 1) have a production facility, 2) have a quality management system, and 3) prove product’s performance that satisfies the level of the green technology.
